Here are Jill Marshall's pictures recording this important moment in the life of St Helen's. It took two days to complete the task of lowering the four bells to the ground.The oldest bell was cast in 1629. They are to be refurbished, retuned, and rehung. It is hoped two more bells will be added if the money can be raised. Children witnessed this unique moment.
